Let’s start with the basics: Chef's Profile

Of course, if you’ve done this before or if you like to explore the unknown all by yourself, you don’t have to read the article. In fact, you don’t have to read it in any case. But I recommend you try it – you don't have to invent a wheel every time you want to ride.

Your Yumbird profile will be accessible to the consumers, so they can know you and build their trust in you. In the first release of the Yumbird app the profile is simple enough, providing necessary information to give consumers a peace of mind: your name and photo, your referral score, your culinary interests, your kitchen, and your achievements.

TIPS ON CREATING CHEF'S PROFILE

Name:

Either use your real name, or invent one to make it memorable for your future customers. Avoid changing your profile name once it’s been published.

Profile photo:

Just be yourself. To make a good impression, choose a headshot of you, smiling and looking at the camera. Within the app you can crop the image to fit perfectly in a square frame.

Specialty:

Choose a few select words to summarize your cooking talents.

Example:

French, Mediterranean, Baking

About:

Write a short paragraph about your cooking experience, heritage, cultural traditions - anything that will add to a good impression of you as a cook and a person.

Example 1:

I was born in Ireland, and moved to the US in 2011. I was always passionate about cooking, and have travelled around Europe studying national cuisines and collecting authentic recipes. I attended culinary classes in France and Italy, where I learned secrets of healthy Mediterranean diet. My true love is baking, and my family and friends agree that I have a real talent in it.

Example 2:

For as long as I can remember, I always loved helping mom in the kitchen. Now I have my own children and grandchildren, and my favorite place at home is still the kitchen, and my favorite smell is one from fresh baked muffins. I still keep my mother’s old recipe book, where I added many of my own creations. I truly believe that there’s nothing better than a family gathering around a table full of great food!

Example 3:

I am a professional mother of 5, a perfectionist with an obsession about healthy eating and lifestyle. That says it. Now my children are grown up (sent the youngest to college this summer), and I have more than ever time and energy for my true passion - healthy cooking and baking.

Later on we plan to offer you to expand your profile, connect it to social media, allow you to create groups and events, teach and get mentored, volunteer and donate, and more, and more.

... add to a good impression of you as a cook and a person.

Kitchen:

A sentence or two describing the facility you’re using to prepare the food. Include a few photos of your kitchen and  equipment, maybe of you cooking there.

Example:

My recently remodeled home kitchen is equipped with top of the range stove and commercial-quality refrigerator. I habitually sanitize all surfaces before and after preparing food.

Certificates:

If you have any culinary certificates, you may want to explain where and when you have received them, including a snapshot of the diploma or the school you’ve attended.

Awards:

Same as with certificates, if you have received any culinary awards, add them to enhance your chef’s profile.

Conclusion:

If created with open heart and positive approach, the rightly created chef’s profile will work in helping you stand out of the crowd and show the future customers the trustworthy and reliable home chef – you.
