How it works: social media referral for your safety

Sharing world: good times, good food, good neighbors

We live in a world of sharing: we share news, pictures, rides, status updates, likes, comments, and feelings... However, almost all of this sharing is virtual. You can "like" your friend's post, but can you taste it?

In modern cities and in suburbia, people know more about their virtual “friends” than about their next door neighbors. People communicate by pressing buttons, not shaking hands. Community enthusiasts make efforts to drive people together, organizing “block parties” or other neighborhood events. But can we do more?

Yumbird is here to help you fill the gap. See that picture on Instagram? Like that post on Facebook? How about ordering what’s in it with a tap on your smartphone? Check if Yumbird has your favorite chef — or suggest that they join us.

Lots of people cook great food at home. Many of them dream of starting their own culinary business, but can't afford the base cost. Lots of people would love to have home cooked food on their table, but don't have time or skills cook everyday.

Yumbird connects these people, letting them share good food and good experiences.

Social media referral model

Even though Yumbird is a solely technology company, one of our main concerns is the safety of the users – both consumers and providers of the service. To ensure the safety and reliability of the chefs and the consumers, we employ a Yumbird social media referral model.

By taking a social, community-oriented approach, we allow the users to participate more actively in the process. Each chef or consumer can ask their virtual contacts to refer them to the network and give them a brief evaluation. Every positive mark brings one “referral point” to the individual.

How it works for Yumbird chefs
  1. Install the app

  2. Create a profile

  3. Ask your connections to refer you

  4. Collect a minimum of 50 referral points (each friend can add a max. of 5 initial referral points to your profile)

  5. Start offering dishes on Yumbird

  6. Collect more referral points after each complete order

When you register on Yumbird Chef app, we invite your friends to refer you to Yumbird. We are asking them to answer 4 simple questions about you (the Chef):

  • Have you met the Chef personally? (yes= +1 point)

  • Have you ever been to his/her kitchen? (yes= +1 point)

  • Did you like his/her cooking? (yes= +1 point)

  • Would you recommend his/her cooking to others? (yes= +2 points)

The chef can get a max. of 5 initial referral points from each friend.

To become a "New Yumbird Chef" you need to collect a minimum of 50 initial referral points.

The number of collected referral points is clearly visible on your profile.

Based on the client’s feedback, each complete transaction can add up to 5 points to your referral capital.

The more referral points you get, the higher is your ranking in the community, and the more trustworthy you look to the potential new customers.

The consumer's safety is very important to us. As well as the safety of Yumbird chefs. To add to everybody’s peace of mind, we ask food consumers to participate in Yumbird social media referral. This is not mandatory but highly recommended, and will help chefs serve you better.

How it works for Yumbird customers
  1. Install the app

  2. Browse and order food on Yumbird

When you ask your social media connections to refer you to Yumbird, a message is sent to all or manually selected Facebook (Twitter, Google, email or other) contacts, asking them to vouch for you.

Of course, there’s no minimum referral points required to order food on the platform!

Each friend can give you one referral point to start with, and each complete transaction feedback will add up to 3 points to your referral capital.
